Frequently Asked Questions
How many guests can you draw in an hour?
It depends on the style. Black-and-white faces run about 5 to 10 minutes each, color faces about 10 to 15, and full-color body portraits take 20 to 25 minutes. Tell me your headcount and event length when you request a quote, and I'll help you pick the style that fits.
Will my guests actually enjoy a caricature artist?
Almost always, yes, even the people who are shy about it end up loving their portrait. It works as entertainment while it's happening (people gather around and watch), and as a keepsake afterward, and it's one of the best icebreakers I've seen between guests who don't know each other yet.
Do you charge a travel fee?
No, not anywhere between Buffalo and Rochester, including Getzville, Grand Island, Lancaster, Orchard Park, Perinton, Canandaigua, Batavia, Niagara Falls, and Varysburg. If your event falls outside that area, just ask and I'll let you know.
Can I book more than one service for the same event?
Yes, caricatures, henna, and face painting all pair well together, and a lot of hosts book two or three for one event. Mention what you're interested in when you request a quote. See Caricatures →, Henna Tattoos →, and Face Painting →.
How far in advance should I book?
The sooner the better, especially for weekend dates during peak season. Reach out as soon as you have a date and I'll let you know what's available.
Do you publish pricing?
Rates vary by date, style, event length, and headcount, so I quote every event individually rather than publishing a flat price. Tell me the details and I'll send you a free quote.
Ready to book? Tell me about your event, and I'll put together a quote.
